UNO-Simulations at TUM in Winter – Register for Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

Assume the role of a diplomat during our Model UN simulations at TUM in winter semester 2011/12. These will provide a glimpse of what is expecting you at a real Model United Nations conference for which you are welcome to apply next summer!

We would like to invite you to the Isar Model United Nations Conference 2011, taking place in Munich from 2nd – 4th December.

IsarMUN is organized by students both from LMU and TUM and was launched for the first time in its today’s shape four years ago by members of MUNTUM and MUNAM (the independent MUN association of the LMU).

This year four committees will be simulated: The two bigger ones, the DISEC and the SOCHUM as well as the Security Council. And a new one. The European Council.

IsarMUN offers most of what the ‘bigger’ MUNs offer which the advantage of being right in the heart of your city (at the LMU) and being cheap – just 45€ for the whole weekend! You can look forward to intense discussions, meeting interesting people and exciting social events and guest speaker!

Registration is open till November, 30th and Early Bird Registration with a higher probability of receiving the country you wish, ends on November 8th.

Since the exam phase is approaching and because of to the limited number of places, we have decided to drastically shorten the requirements for the OxIMUN application: there is no need for a written CV or country plea.

Besonderer Dank gilt unseren Förderern Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Wolfgang Herrmann, Prof. Dr. Mainzer, der Robert Bosch Stiftung sowie Frau Weindel von PROMOS und Frau Friedsam für den Bund der Freunde, außerdem dem Trägerverein Studiendruck der FSMB, ohne deren Unterstützung unsere erfolgreiche Teilnahme an der WorldMUN 2011 nicht möglich gewesen wäre.

Alle Dokumente der beiden MUN-Simulation sowie die verabschiedete Draft Resolution 1.3 stehen hier für Euch zum Ansehen bereit. Die gezeigte Präsentation mit Informationen zum Bewerbungsprozess und unserem Verein gibt es wie auch bei der letzten Simulation natürlich online.

In den nächsten Wochen erhalten wir Rückmeldung von den OxIMUN Organisatoren und können Euch dann auf Basis der Zahl der Interessenten aus der letzten Simulation am 6.7. mitteilen, wie Ihr Euch für die OxIMUN und NMUN Europe melden könnt. Auch zu unserem Verein gibt es nochmals kurze Hinweise, wir würden uns über Verstärkung freuen!

Solltest Du an der ersten Simulation nicht teilgenommen haben, bist Du jederzeit willkommen und kannst noch einsteigen – es ging um das Thema Syrien, und dieses bleibt aktuell! Alle Informationen werden nach dem Event selbstverständlich auch wieder online verfügbar sein.

Wie Ihr Euch für die OxiMUN und NMUN Europe melden könnt, steht an unserem Termin am 6. Juli fest, wenn wir bis dahin von den Organisatoren eine Rückmeldung zur Teilnahme einer Delegation der TUM erhalten haben. Das und alles weitere steht für Euch dann wieder auf “Join Us!“.
